Finish each day before you begin the next, and interpose a solid wall of sleep between two. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, American essayist, abolitionist, and poet
Totally relaxed
Eyes shut, limbs splayed, soft breathing
Finally asleep

Oh Debbie, what a sweet and adorable capture! And I love how Monkey has his paws up! It almost looks as though he and the toy are BOTH doing that!
Thanks for sharing the cuteness, my friend!
Happy Sunday! X
P.S. Can you believe it was over 64 degrees and sunny yesterday. Yet, this morning I woke up to 30 degrees and SNOW. I can’t tell if it’s Spring or Winter. LOL!
Glad you liked this one, Ron. He was sleeping under the desk in the kitchen, and I was afraid he’d hear the camera click and wake up. The toy beside him is his llama (which he’s almost chewed the ears off).
Isn’t this weather crazy?? Wish we had some of those 60-plus degree days. This Deep Freeze is wearing on all of us! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xx
Monkey has to get an occasional nap to rechare the batteries.
You are absolutely right, Frank! He doesn’t take long naps, but the ones he takes are always in such cute positions.
Fun to see a relaxed Sheltie having a snooze. It reminds me of our Liam when he was young.
Laurie, the only creature that naps better than a puppy is a cat. They always pick the sunniest spots and go totally limp!
Finally asleep…and you can breathe deeply and put up your feet and perhaps daydream…or write a blog!
If only it were that easy, Kathy! His naps are few and far between, sad to say; still, I grab what time I can while I can.
What a picture of contentment. I always enjoyed watching Dixie Rose sleep. That kind of pose is a sign of a secure critter, for sure.
What amazes me, Linda, is that Monkey is the ONLY dog I’ve ever had to snooze on his back. I guess the others always were — consciously or not — in an alert, guard-dog stance. I’ve always heard that it takes a really secure dog to sleep this way. Perhaps Monkey is happy here, after all!
Oh Monkey….you are so cute!
Thank you, Dawn. He’s a beautiful boy. I wish he weren’t such a little hooligan, but maybe with time he’ll settle down/
Awww…. 🙂
*grinning* Happy you liked this one, Eliza — thanks for telling me!
The best pose. How cute. Thanks for sharing, Debbie.
This one was for you, John. I promised I’d get a photo of Monkey sleeping belly-up, and here it is. (He insisted I crop out his private parts, though!!)
I loved it.
Thanks for telling me!!
Debbie, TOO TOO CUTE! What a great pic!!
Thanks, Virginia. This is his customary sleeping position — belly up — so it wasn’t too hard to snap the shot after I promised my friend John (above) that I would.
Love your haiku ~ that is one very relaxed puppy sleeping!
Glad you liked it, Barbara — I’ve never had a dog sleep on its back. Never. Which, I suppose, is one reason I’m so fascinated by this little Monkey!
He looks so relaxed!
He was, indeed — I’ve never had a dog sleep this way, so I find it fascinating!
Haha, aren’t they adorable when they’re so relaxed! Not sure I want to sleep with my legs in the air, but I’d love to feel that relaxed… 😀
Isn’t that the truth?? I wouldn’t feet comfy sleeping like that, which is another reason I enjoy watching Monk do it!
