The desire to reach for the sky runs deep in our human psyche. ~Cesar Pelli, Argentine-American architect
Going some place new
Traveling on a jet plane
Just a dream for now.

Where’s your dream trip location.
Anywhere there’s plenty of beach (though not a hurricane headed inland!!) There’s an ad on TV for Mounds candy in which they show half a candy piece, stick a paper umbrella in it, and play “island” music … and I melt every time I see it, ha!
Love your photo, Debbie. Would be nice to travel.
Thanks, John. I know I need to get away, but the time’s just not right. I guess I’ll just have to sit tight for now!
Yup. Sit tight.
Bon voyage, whenever you can go.
Thanks, Laurie. There are so many places I’ve yet to visit. Going someplace new — just in my imagination — will have to suffice for now.
I’ve been having the same feeling myself, Debbie! But for me, I long to travel across country via train. I LOVE train travel!
Here’s hoping both our dreams come true!
Beautiful photo capture!
Have a great weekend, my friend. Autumn in truly starting to move in here. I actually worn a light jacket today.
*doing the happy dance!

Ron, I, too, love traveling by train! Domer and I used to do that quite often when he was little. The food was pretty good, and it’s so relaxing to sleep to the rocking of the rails!
It’s been cool to the point of almost-cold here the past few mornings. I’ve had to wear a jacket and hat walking Monkey. But there’s been no humidity to speak of, and the skies are soooo blue! xx
I had to laugh when I read your post. It reminded me of one of my favorite poems by someone who shared your feelings. I dig it out every now and then, but reading it is a risk, because it always makes my wanderlust increase even more. See?
“My heart is warm with the friends I make,
And better friends I’ll not be knowing,
Yet there isn’t a train I wouldn’t take,
No matter where it’s going.”
― Edna St. Vincent Millay, The Selected Poetry
Wonderful, Linda — thank you!! Yes, Edna says it much better than I did, and I have to agree: taking a train would be a most relaxing way to get somewhere.
Sometimes we travel in person, and sometimes just in our minds. Either way, it’s a welcome break!
It certain is, Ann! Thanks for understanding.
Hope you get your dream trip sometime, Debbie! At least we can travel to lots of places virtually these days, which has the major advantage of no piles of laundry when we get home… 😉
Well, yes, there’s that. And I don’t have to go to the trouble of boarding Monkey either. Still, looking at photos of faraway places online isn’t the same as actually being someplace exotic, ha!
May your dream come true as soon as possible! And may your daydreams be pleasant in the meantime. ✈️
Thanks, Barbara. Sometimes it’s hard being patient when wanderlust hits!
Love this quote. Wishing you happy traveling days ahead.
