Wordless Wednesday

…we can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasure… ~Thornton Wilder, American playwright, novelist, and winner of three Pulitzer Prizes

    • Sometimes this season surprises us with crystal clear days, doesn’t it, Frank? It’s easy to appreciate them when we’re so often surrounded by gray and clouds.

  1. Debbie, both the quote by Thornton Wilder and your beautiful photo are prime examples of GRATITUDE. And also a reminder to live in the moment because that’s when we become “aware” of what we have to be grateful FOR.

Ironic that you posted this today because for the past several days I’ve been walking around the city, enjoying the finale of the Autumn color palette.

    Savory it.

    And feeling grateful.

Thanks for the reminder, my friend. Happy Wednesday!

    • Ron, you and I have “spoken” about the importance of gratitude many times, and I know you, too, try to live your life with it. All of us have occasions for gloominess, but I don’t see that spreading misery around helps anybody, least of all ourselves.

Glad you enjoyed what might be the last of our Midwest Fall, my friend. It’s certainly been a pretty one! xx

  2. Every color looks good against a blue sky, but this may be my favorite combination. It’s truly lovely — I’m so glad you shared it, so I could enjoy it vicariously!

  3. What beautiful color! I was just saying to my husband over breakfast this morning that all our leaves are gone. And it’s SOOOO cold this morning. Winter seems to stretch out forever ahead of us now.

    • Dawn, I’m right there with you. The last couple of days here have been miserably cold, though we’re getting a brief reprieve this week. I don’t particularly mind the cold, as long as we have sunshine. It’s those cold and gray days when I start dreaming of being on a beach somewhere!

    • Barbara, I’ve learned to take happiness from wherever I can find it. We live in such troubled times, and so many lives are positively chaotic these days. Seeing a tree decked out in its autumn finery brings a lot of happiness, I think.
