I moved aside a big flower pot this afternoon and guess what I found?
Spring!!
Yep, a whole crop of daffodils and tulips have poked their noses through the ground (and the snow!), in preparation for their annual display of color.
It’s been a rough winter — everywhere. Mr. Groundhog (the one everybody listens to) says we’re going to have six more weeks of it. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of winter.
Tired of shoveling snow.
Tired of creeping along icy streets.
Tired of gloomy, gray days.
So let’s celebrate. Here’s the photo I took of the posies lurking beneath the warmth of a flower pot.
Spring is coming, and I can’t wait!
Thank you ,Debbie, for the reminder of spring. This is about the time that winter has worn out its welcome with me..we still have a way to go but just the thought of the snow melting and the flowers blooming is hopeful! Thanks for the reminder
Thanks for reading . . . and commenting! Glad I was able to help. These sunny days certainly make winter more bearable, don’t they?
Yes, even though we anticipate the next snowstorm this week, sunny days serve as a harbinger to spring!
Our Pittsburgh daffodils have at least four feet of heavily compressed snow on top of them, as does everything bordering steps and driveway. They may not blossom until July this year, if at all! Thanks for reminding me spring IS coming — in only four weeks.
We had a GOOD day of melting today, but I’m certain more “icky weather” is on the way — blame that groundhog!!
