All sorrows are less with bread. ~Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote
Found a piece of bread
Wrestled it across the lawn
“Mine, all mine!” he said.

I love your poems!
Thanks, Katybeth — glad you found it appealing!
That is a bird I can relate to!
Good! He didn’t find many would-be competitors — probably too big and pushy for the sparrows and robins!
Debbie, fantastic photo capture! Great poem, and I love your clever post title!
A crow is my favorite bird. Not only do I think their beautiful, but they are also extremely smart.
Have a great weekend, my friend!
Thank you, Ron. I didn’t know you had a thing for crows, my friend. I much prefer owls, but they’re hard to photograph!
‘Tis almost Friday — time to start looking forward to a grand weekend! xo
Love this, Debbie. 😀
Thanks for stopping by and reading, John!
Hahaha – great haiku! And lucky bird! 😀
Thanks, FF. Glad you liked it. I didn’t see any other birdies ready or willing to grapple for that bread, either!
Debbie, your postings run the gamut which always makes them interesting. Just read your piece on the baby in the car seat and now this, which gives me a chuckle. So amusing!
Why, what a nice thing to say — thank you, Monica. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t focus on something (rather than post whatever captures my attention). But then, my logical brain says, Nah, who wants to focus!!!
It does look like that foot’s firmly planted atop that bread. What’s that old business about possession being 9/10 of the law? I don’t know who enforces the law in crowland, but that one sure does have possession!
Linda, he was such a BIG guy, compared to the sparrows, robins, jays, etc., that I can’t imagine anybody standing up to him! Even the squirrels seemed to give him a wide berth. Guess there’s a lesson somewhere — about confidence begetting confidence or something!
