If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies. ~Author Unknown
As
Sunlight
Appears, we
Can see changes
In our surroundings.
Twenty minutes apart:
And the leaves begin to glow.
The sky becomes a denim blue,
And color washes over our world.
A new day has dawned for us to enjoy.
We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light. ~Evelyn Dunbar, British artist, illustrator, and teacher
Note: This poetic form is an Etheree.
Fitting words to go along with the captures. Yet – only 20 minutes apart – a great idea!
It amazes me what Nature comes us with to surprise us!
Well stated … especially when one takes the time to look.
We have to slow down enough to look — and appreciate — don’t we, Frank? Isn’t that written in our DNA or something?!
No doubt. Much of being human is written in our DNA … Yep … A future topic. 😊
Glad I was able to help you find a spark — looking forward to reading it!
That will be way down the road …. but I can say the DNA walk is in draft form.
Beautiful, Debbie, absolutely BEAUTIFUL–your words, your photographs, and quotes; particularly the one about butterflies. So true!
Happy mid-week, my friend! X
Thanks so much, Ron! I’m glad you enjoyed it and stopped by to tell me so. I love butterflies and am disappointed my Sedum didn’t seem to attract many this year. I hope that’s not a harbinger of what’s to come. Enjoy that nice cool spell we’re sending you! xo
What a great pair of photos, and a wonderful poem to go with them. As always, paying attention is the first step, with a little pondering thrown in!
Aw, what sweet words — thank you! You’re so right — we only need to stop and observe to be delighted at the views Nature offers us!
Lovely poem and so meaningfully illustrated by the photographs! Perception is everything, and it never stays the same, especially when light comes into play.
Thank you, Barbara — I’m delighted you enjoyed them! Now that we’ve got more daylight these mornings, who knows what beauty we might capture?
This is so beautiful!!
High words of praise from a talented photographer — thank you, Dawn. I’m thrilled they passed muster!
Debbie, your post resonated mightily with this redhead, beautifully apt for today. The Evelyn Dunbar quote is going straight in my journal. Many MANY thanks! 💐✨🤗✨💐
Isn’t that a great quote, Virginia? I read it and knew it would be perfect for my post today. I’m glad others agree with the decision — thanks for your lovely words of praise!
Lovely poem and photos, Debbie. Very uplifting today.
Music to my ears, John. Thanks so much for telling me so!
Yes, that’s the Spirit! And the photos are so neat, one against a gray sky, and one against the blue. ❤
Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know you did! I’m still blushing over your kind praise — glad you enjoyed my post!
xo
Denim blue sky–I love that description! And the autumn leaves still hanging on. A new day to enjoy, indeed.
I’m so glad you liked it, Kathy — thanks for letting me know!
Lovely photos and poem, Debbie. I like the optimism of a new day. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so happy you enjoyed them — thanks for telling me so, Natalie!!
