No way! Already??? Happy Gotcha Day, Monkey!
I imagine it does seem fast to others, but here, it’s been 365 days of on-again, off-again. And truly, there were times I wasn’t sure we were going to make it!
I never heard of Gotcha Day before, but you are a lucky little Monkey on this special anniversary!
Thanks, Kathy. This is the anniversary of the day Monkey came here to live. It’s certainly been a whirlwind since then!
Happy 1st Gotcha Day to Monkey! And what a year it’s been… Best wishes to you and your mom for many wonderful years to come! 💙
Thank you, Barbara. He’s settled down somewhat now, but he’s still got a lot of puppy exuberance in him.
OMG Debbie, I cannot believe it’s been a year already since Monkey came into your life.
Happy Gotcha Day to Monkey and you! That photo is adorable!!!!
Love the quote you shared too.
Happy Sunday, dear friend! X
Ron, this is the look he gives me when I’m working at my computer and he’s “resting” on the sofa. You can almost hear him asking, “Aren’t you finished YET??!”
Sometimes I feel the year has flown by; other times, I feel it’s dragged. One thing’s for sure: neither of us has had much chance for boredom! xx
Sweet Monkey! Happy Gotcha Day!
Thank you, my friend. Tell me: is the “fun” just starting??!
I’d never heard of “Gotcha Day,” but as soon as I saw the photo, it made sense. It’s hard to believe a year has passed. Both of you made it through!
“Made it through,” indeed. Sometimes, it’s been an uphill climb, Linda. And I wish I had a nickel for every time I threatened to haul him back to the breeder, possibly for some remedial training, ha!
Aw, time flies. You made it! 😀
Made it is exactly right, Eliza. Many times, I thought we wouldn’t. Raising a puppy is not for the faint-hearted, that’s for sure!.
Yeah, no more puppies or kittens for me, I don’t have the energy for it. 🙂
I hear ya. It’s definitely a young person’s game, isn’t it?!
I can’t believe at one time I had 2 dogs and 3 cats. I estimated their care took about 2 hours a day… the two kids took the rest… but I was in my 30s then. 😉
HaHa! Good for you … good for all of them, too!
Happy Gotcha Day, Monkey.
Thanks very much, John. He didn’t get a cake, but he does get a walkie!
Just as good.
Probably better for his waistline anyway!
Yes indeed. We found a stuffed toy cake one year and Lucy loved it.
Great idea! I suspect Monkey would destroy it as he has so many of his toys though.
I’m sure he would.
Adogable!! Happy Gotcha Day!
Aw, thanks, Cindy. Appreciate your reading this one!
You know Deb, I’m not an animal person, but my daughter just had to put down her dog last week. She was sick. It was soooo sad. Our whole family was upset, even me. I know how much she loved him. I had no dogs when my kids were growing up. I was shocked that through my fear of dogs that she got not only one but 2. Now I know how you felt. I’m so glad you have a new furry friend now. I hope this year has been special and that you have enjoyed being a dog owner again. I hope you have great memories with your new pet.
Tanya, I’m so sorry for your daughter’s grief. We surely do get attached to these “fur-kids,” and I know her heart will ache for a long time. I’m still missing Dallas, and it’s been two years! Time has a way of healing the pain, so perhaps she can cling to that. Thanks for your kind wishes regarding Monkey. He’s a little hooligan most of the time, but I can’t help loving him!
It doesn’t seem possible that it is a year already! Happy “Gotcha Day” to Monkey!
Thanks, Ann. Sometimes it feels like it’s been fast; other times, slow as molasses. I’m praying his second year is better than his first, ha!
Happy Gotcha Day to both of you! The worst is over, it will all be plain sailing from here on! Well, most of the time anyway, eh, Monkey? 😉
How I hope you’re right, FF!! It’s certainly been a nightmare of a year here.
