New Life Emerging

Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot little puppies. ~Gene Hill, American writer

Dallas and his siblings, December 2006

A puppy’s whole life

Wraps around his litter-mates

And his mama, too.

Note:
The theme for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge is Awakening. Yes, I thought about a nice photo of Mother Nature emerging from her winter’s sleep, but that’s lagging a bit this year. Thus, you get puppies … three of them, to be exact! Dallas and his siblings were just about two and a half weeks old at this point. Hard not to fall in love with a tiny animal, right?!

    • Thanks, FF. Gee, I wish I knew for sure. The breeder actually took this one to give to the new puppy parents. From the markings, I’m guessing Dallas is the one on the far left, next to the toys. He’s grown a lot since then, hee hee!

  1. OMG Debbie, this is so ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve always wanted to know what Dallas looked like as a puppy because even as an adult, he is so precious-looking. I was going to ask the same question as your reader, Fiction Fan, which one is Dallas? And yes, I think you’re right because those do look like his markings.

Thanks so much for sharing this, my friend. It put a HUGE smile on my face!

    P.S. Love the quote!

    • Thanks, Ron. You know, Sheltie pups come out of their mother already marked, so the breeder has a pretty good idea what they’ll look like as adults. Dallas was adorable, even as a pup, and he was the only male in the litter.

Glad you enjoyed seeing his puppy picture — yesterday was National Pet Day, did you know?! Hope the rest of your week goes well! x

  2. Ha, There is a reason they are so darn cute. No fooling me! Not falling for it…no way. Oh… wait did I put a deposit down for a puppy that will be joining our family next December? Nuts! 😀 Dallas is the cutest one but they are all adorable!

    • You’re getting a new pup?? How exciting! What kind? You know you’ll have lots of fodder for your blog with a new baby in the house! I think Dallas’s breeder might agree with you. She’s often told me she regrets insisting I have him “fixed” because he’d make such a doggone good father!!

  3. Goodness me! If that doesn’t fit the phrase “terminally cute,” I don’t know what would. Puppies and kittens are delightful — and I think I might have chosen the one on the left as Dallas. It just looks like him.

    • Linda, you’ve got a good eye! I’d have been hard-pressed to choose a pup from this litter — I thought they were ALL cuties. It’s a blessing I took the advice of the breeder, who somehow knew this male pup would be ideal for me and Domer. Of course, she’d been raising litters for many years, and she’d gotten to know us over several months, so it wasn’t as if she was tossing a dart at a board!
