Halloween 2018

My friend Katybeth nudged me some time ago that Halloween was on its way and I should get Dallas all gussied up and ready to join in the spirit of the occasion.

So here is our semblance of a Halloween card:

Go ahead and laugh (Domer did, when he saw it).

‘It looks like you’ve Photoshopped my dog onto a beach.’

Well, yes. Yes, it does.

Worse, it looks like poor Dallas has no backside!

(Probably sank in all that sand.)

Once you’ve had your laugh, hop on over to Katybeth’s blog and see how the pros do it. I can’t figure it out and spent way more time than is seemly just trying!

Maybe if we leave you with some surfing music you won’t hate us too much — Happy Halloween, everyone!

P.S. I’m not doing NaNoWriMo (the write-your-novel-in-a-month challenge), but I *do* have to crank it up a notch on book two of my series, and this is as good a time as any. Before the holiday festivities, you know. So I won’t be around much for the next couple of weeks. Enjoy your Fall, and we’ll chat soon!

  1. Debbie, this picture is PRICELESS! OMG…Dallas looks soooooo dang cute as a surfer dude! LOVE it!

And it’s so funny that you linked to “Beach Boys – Surfin` Safari” because that’s the first song I thought of when I saw the picture of Dallas, I kid you not.

Thanks so much for the morning laugh, my friend. Happy Halloween to you and Dallas!

P.S. and the best to you with your book two!

    • Glad you got a kick out of it, Ron. Poor puppy — look at his sad little face and empathize with his “pain” at having to put on a muscle shirt and Hawaiian lei, ha!

Thanks for the good wishes on my book. Part of me would rather be blogging — writing a book is HARD WORK! — but I need to force myself to concentrate and put in the time. Happy Halloween to you!

  2. What a funny image. It may not be perfect photoshopping, but it’s a perfect depiction of Dallas’s inner surfer dude! Happy Halloween to you, and lots of good wishes for your re-engagement with your manuscript!

    • Thank you, Linda. Poor Dallas really isn’t the kind of dog one dresses up; he hates it so! When I was a kid, we had a miniature poodle who didn’t seem to mind wearing dresses or whatever else two little girls chose to put on him. Remember those BIG walking dolls? Yes, poor thing got to wear one of their dresses — he was so cute in gingham! Thanks for understanding about my need to get back to work!

  3. Oh, Dallas, aren’t our humans just adorable?? They wear all these silly clothes themselves, meaning they can never lick that itchy place in an emergency or get a good sniff at each other, and they simply don’t realise that it would be so much more fun to run about in their natural coats! We’re very glad your Mama merely photoshopped you and didn’t actually attempt to stuff you into a surfing costume – sometimes they go too far! Have you found the stock of candy that is probably hidden somewhere around the house? Happy Hallowe’en!

    Love, Tommy and Tuppence

    • Tommy and Tuppence, you understand purrfectly what I had to go through, don’t you? I bet your human is never as insistent as my mama about you two putting on human clothing — how silly! As to candy, no, I can’t say I’ve found her stash. I imagine she’s got it well hidden. I do, however, know where the cookies reside and every time she gets near that cabinet, I’m right beside her! Sending hugs across the Pond, Dallas
