Time for a Break

If you’re always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you’re in? ~Author Unknown

Stella D’Oro Daylillies

Even nature takes a little break.

She pauses between each season

To catch her breath, so to speak.

Within a season too,

Flowers bloom and rest.

All of us need

Some time off.

Don’t you

Think?

Note: As you probably guessed, it’s time for me to take a wee pause. Happy Fathers’ Day to all the dads reading this, and I’ll be back shortly. By the way, this poetry form is a Nonet, nine lines with a decreasing number of syllables in each line.

  1. Enjoy your break, Debbie! You’re absolutely spot on. Just like the seasons of nature, we need a break now and then.

By the way, that photo of the Daylillies is so beautiful!

You take care, my friend. And we’ll see you when you return.

  2. I do think. As a matter of fact, I’m taking a break from running the country with my camera today, just to stay home, pay bills, and do some cleaning. That may sound like an odd kind of “break,” but any change in routine can be refreshing. Enjoy yours!

    • Doesn’t sound like an odd break to me, Linda! That’s just the sort of thing we all need to do — that we don’t get done unless we make time for it. Personally, I think I’m just tired — and a change in routine will be heavenly!
